okocz makes their debut on the PPRZ label with a perfectly fitting 4 track EP titled ‘Dew Fade.’
The songs are inspired by being lost in thought, gruelling, chaotic travels and vivid experiences within the depths of cities. Captivating, detailed and focused ever-changing techno at ranging tempos and velocities are designed equally for your brain and body's experience.
Textures and field recordings, combined with modular synthesis and DAW were used to craft the EP. While writing songs, okocz describes their creative process as a flow state, having difficulty recalling how and why something came to be. Following this phase, their goal while producing is refining and creating something that DJ’s can utilize in addition to being enjoyable as a singular work.
A decade after discovering electronic music, quickly picking up a feel for being behind decks and experimenting with different sounds and identities, okocz (also known as Peter or pk) has found a voice and direction within himself in the past two years.
Raised in and currently residing in Ohio, he has long been connected to and a regular face in the midwest underground. having used the rave-less pandemic to dive deep into music production, an essence was found, grown, nurtured, and refined. He takes heavy influence from the midwest underground, DIY dance parties, Detroit techno, and New York clubs, but also holds a meaningful connection to Berlin from his early days of raving.
Nearing a veteran level raver, if not one already, he has recently been pouring much of his time and energy off the dancefloor into curating this new direction within himself. While it still feels like just the start, it has been an intentioned and noteworthy progression towards the manifestation of an idea.
